This Privacy Policy for Artemis Analytics Inc ("Artemis," "we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we collect, store, use, and share your information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:

  • Visit our website at artemis.ai, or any website of ours that links to this Privacy Policy;
  • Use our platform to access financial data, analytics, research, or AI features;
  • Connect your brokerage or financial accounts through Plaid;
  • Engage with us in other ways, including sales, marketing, events, or support.

1. What Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password (encrypted), and profile details when you register for an account;
  • Payment Information: When you purchase a subscription, your payment details are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers;
  • Communications: Information you provide when contacting us for support, providing feedback, or corresponding with us;
  • User Content: Watchlists, notes, financial models, portfolio configurations, and other content you create through the Services.

Portfolio and Financial Account Data

If you choose to connect your brokerage or financial accounts through Plaid, we receive and process:

  • Account balances, holdings, and positions;
  • Transaction history;
  • Account and institution identifiers;
  • Other financial data as authorized by you through the Plaid connection flow.

We use this data to provide portfolio tracking, analytics, and performance reporting within the Services. Plaid acts as an intermediary and is governed by its own privacy policy.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Services, we automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Log and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, time stamps, referring URLs, and actions taken within the Services;
  • Device Data: Device type, screen resolution, unique device identifiers, and operating system version;
  • Location Data: Approximate location derived from your IP address.

Sensitive Information: We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as health data, biometric data, or government identifiers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • Process your transactions and manage your subscription;
  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account;
  • Display your portfolio data, analytics, and performance metrics;

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party vendors who help us operate the Services, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors (Stripe), authentication services (Stytch), financial data connectors (Plaid), and analytics tools (PostHog). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal Compliance: When required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Artemis, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
  • Aggregated Data: We may share aggregated, anonymized data that does not identify any individual user for analytics, research, or marketing purposes.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Third-Party Data Providers

The Services display financial data from third-party providers, including S&P Global Market Intelligence and Quartr. These providers may have their own data protection policies. We do not share your personal information with these data providers. However, your use of their data through our Services is subject to the restrictions in our Terms of Service.

5. AI Features and Data

Our AI features process your queries and, where applicable, your User Content and Portfolio Data to generate responses and analysis. We use AI services from third-party providers to power these features. Your inputs to AI features may be processed by these providers to generate responses, but are not used to train their general models.

AI-generated outputs are not guaranteed to be accurate. See our Terms of Service for important disclaimers regarding AI-generated content.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to collect usage information and improve the Services. These include:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for authentication, security, and basic functionality;
  • Analytics Cookies: Used to understand how users interact with the Services (e.g., PostHog);
  • Preference Cookies: Used to remember your settings and preferences.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may limit your ability to use some features of the Services.

7. Social Logins

If you choose to log in using a social account (e.g., Google), we receive profile information (such as name and email) as permitted by that service. This data is used solely to authenticate your account. We do not control the privacy settings of third-party login providers. Please review their privacy policies.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When your data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information;

11. Do-Not-Track Signals

We do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track browser signals. If a universal standard for DNT is adopted, we will update this policy accordingly.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information;
  • The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information);
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

13. International Users

The Services are hosted in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we rely on consent, contractual necessity, and legitimate interests as legal bases for processing your data.

14. Children

The Services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by providing notice through the Services or via email.
