# Shared spreadsheet issue

If you see the **"Shared spreadsheet detected"** message when opening the Artemis Sheets add-on sidebar, the issue is usually caused by opening a spreadsheet owned by someone else.

## Why this happens

When you open a shared spreadsheet, the ART formulas run under the spreadsheet owner account.

## Example

Let's say:

* **Account A** = owner of the spreadsheet shared with account B
* **Account B** = opens the spreadsheet

If account A is not logged in through the sidebar, account B will see this message returned by the ART formulas:

> **Please sign in via the sidebar to use =ART functions.**

Even if account B logs into the sidebar, the ART functions still run under account A, so the same message will appear.

## What still works?

You can continue using **ART formulas** as well as the Chat, Formula Builder, and Templates sidebar features normally, but they will run under the spreadsheet owner account in the background.

However, the sidebar **Settings** feature will **not** work.

## Quick fixes

You can make a copy of the sheet under your own account. Click the **File** menu, then **Make a copy**.
